I was born in New York state, but grew up in the suburbs of Chicago (Go Cubs, Go!). I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for my B.A. and M.A in French. In 2012 I moved to Lawrence, Kansas to pursue a PhD in Linguistics at the University of Kansas (KU) and graduated in 2016. From 2016 to 2022 I was faculty in Linguistics at KU, teaching primarily introductory linguistics and research methods. In 2022 I joined the Department of Languages and Linguistics at The University of Texas at El Paso as an Assistant Professor of Linguistics.

In my free time I enjoy running and cooking.
